Fellowships are a great way to fund your doctoral and postdoctoral work, and ultimately allow a greater flexibility to pursue the research questions that interest you most. Grant writing is an essential part of research, and one that takes practice, so cultivating this skill early on is key! Being self-funded can often require an enormous amount of self-motivation and independence for a successful project. While this may feel difficult at first, it is important to view it as a unique time to grow as an individual and a researcher.
Below I have summarized several prominent doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships and their approximate deadlines. See links for further details on eligibility, duration, and deadlines.
